Cornell Basson is a entrepreneur and business consultant on the African continent. At the age of 28 he has accomplished considerably in setting up successful businesses, he sits on the boards and is actively involved in various companies in a variety of sectors including retail, finance, marketing, mortgage brokering and import/export.

As an active and skilled member of the business community in Cape Town, South Africa, he consults to multi-nationals focussing on strategic guidance and marketing. Cornell has also been involved in bilateral trade talks and workshops at senior Government level between South Africa and the United Kingdom.

In the past five years he has completed his Chartered Accountancy articles contract at PWC in Cape Town where he was seconded to Paladin Capital Ltd, the private equity division of the PSG Group, one of the leading investment houses in South-Africa.

Since then he has set up his own private equity company and has been actively involved in mapping the strategic route in financial services for the Shoprite Group of Companies, the largest supermarket group on the African continent. He has worked and travelled to many African countries where Shoprite have a presence.

He holds a Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Stellenbosch and a Honours in Accounting from the University of South Africa.
