Prior to co-founding and setting up Tanto Capital Partners in October 2014, Ozan had set-up and was running the Turkish business of VTB Capital-Russia’s second largest financial institution. In his capacity as the Country Executive, Ozan was responsible for all of the firm’s advisory, fixed income/equity origination, commodities and financing businesses across all sectors. Prior to joining VTB Capital in early 2012, Ozan had spent over seven years at Merrill Lynch London (subsequently BAML), where in his last position he was responsible for the Turkish capital markets and financing as well as the wider Emerging Markets high yield and structured financing businesses.
Ozan had started his investment-banking career in the Global Structured Finance and Principal Investments team of Merrill Lynch, and was responsible for structuring and managing securitization/warehouse financing, special situation financing, and private equity transactions across multiple sectors, asset classes, and regions. Throughout his investment banking career, Ozan originated and has overseen the execution of over US$48bn of deals across both the global Emerging Markets and Western Europe within the illiquid/mezzanine financing and principal investments space.
Ozan spent his pre-investment banking career at Unilever having joined as a management trainee, and held the position of a Business Group Finance Manager before leaving to join Merrill Lynch after 3 years. Ozan holds a BA in Management Studies from the University of Nottingham (2001), and is an ACMA charter holder.
